Why Interrogating your Internalized Antifatness is so Important

Ya girl has another essay for you to really dig into your internalized anti fatness and interrogate your biases. Are ya ready? Well strap ya self in it’s gonna be a bumpy ride for that ass ! For us to have a more inclusive and kinder world we must first look within our own “yard” so to speak. I can’t complain about your “yard” if mine is a hot mess right? Judgment in and of it self is such a thing in life, social media, etc. But when your own judgments are because of your own internalized stuff and you harm other people that’s a whole other thing now isn’t it?
Internalized fat phobia or antifatness is what happens when fat people believe in the toxic & racist messaging that because they’re fat, they don’t deserve the same opportunities or treatment as thin people. Fat people suffering with internalized fat phobia may feel that a fat person isn’t attractive, needs to lose weight, deserves discrimination because of their fatness, and they may believe their health issues are their own fault.
